Job Summary

The BI Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization to design, develop, and maintain impactful dashboards and reports that facilitate data-driven decision-making. This role requires advanced Power BI skills, a strong understanding of data modeling and transformation, and the ability to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders at various levels. The role requires working knowledge of Databricks for data processing, transformation and integration with Power BI.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Reporting

• Gather and translate diverse reporting requirements from multiple departments into effective Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Integrate and process datasets using Databricks to support Power BI reporting and analytics.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize workflows and pipelines within Databricks environment.
• Analyze large, complex datasets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency by applying best practices in data cleaning and preparation.
• Leverage intermediate DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) skills to develop robust measures and calculations.
• Validate data to ensure accuracy and high-quality reporting.

Dashboard Development and Maintenance:

• Design, build, update, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards that provide advanced insights.
• Utilize intermediate to advanced data modeling, data transformation, and Power Query capabilities.
• Automate reporting processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Implement advanced report creation techniques to meet evolving business needs.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with stakeholders across different functions (e.g., operations, marketing, finance, etc.) to refine and enhance reporting requirements.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams to ensure seamless data integration and consistent reporting standards.
• Provide training and support to team members on using Power BI tools and interpreting dashboards.
• Coordinate with global teams and adapt to time-zone differences to clarify requirements, especially when complex or detailed discussions are required.

Requirements:

• Advanced report creation capabilities using Power BI.
• Intermediate knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
• Working knowledge of Databricks, including notebooks, Delta Lake, and Spark-based data processing.
• Ability to integrate Databricks data pipelines with Power BI datasets and models.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge in data modeling, data cleaning, and transformation.
• Intermediate Power Query skills.
• Proficiency in integrating datasets from various sources (e.g., databases, APIs, Excel).
• High-level ability to validate and ensure data accuracy/quality.
• Familiarity with databases (SQL), Excel, ERP systems, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent work experience).
